Your website is part of the ad campaign
February 25, 2026
Marketing budgets usually get split by vendor. A web person built the site two years ago, an ads person runs the campaigns now, and nobody owns the space in between. That space is where the money leaks.
A paid click is expensive. Sending it to a page that takes five seconds to load on a phone, buries the phone number, and offers eight equally weighted navigation options wastes most of what you paid for.
Speed is the least interesting and most reliable fix. Compress the images, stop loading scripts you do not use, and test on a phone on a normal connection rather than on office wifi.
After speed comes clarity. Every page should have one obvious next action. For a local service business that is almost always a call. Put the number in the header, make it tappable, and repeat the action at the bottom of every page.
Then close the loop. Track form submissions and calls, and match them back to the campaign that produced them. Once you can see which page converts, the site stops being a brochure and starts being part of the campaign.
